Hello! I'm Sean Reid, a filmmaker, editor and graphic designer with a knack for storytelling and visual art. Growing up in the vibrant streets of Drumchapel, Glasgow, I initially pursued a BA in architecture before shifting my focus to filmmaking, earning my BA in Film Production at the University of Edinburgh in 2011.

Shortly after graduation, an unexpected journey took me out of filmmaking and away from Glasgow, landing me in the heart of the Midwest, including time in Minneapolis, Minnesota, before settling in Springfield, Missouri. This transition brought unique challenges and opportunities that enriched my creative perspective.

Over the past decade, I’ve worked my way back into the industry, honing my skills in media and marketing through various in-house roles and freelance work. My focus has been on video production, graphic design, and editing, allowing me to develop a diverse portfolio. I am inspired by the raw authenticity of British Social Realism, the emotional depth of Kitchen Sink Drama, and the dark, atmospheric tones of Urban Gothic, often drawing from the climate and landscape of the Scottish Highlands and Isles. These influences shape my creative vision as I continue to grow in the industry.

In recent years, I’ve reconnected with my Scottish roots, securing freelance projects that keep me tied to my heritage. These projects, alongside my work in Missouri, reflect a blend of influences from my life’s journey. Currently based in Missouri, I’m continually expanding my skills in production, editing, motion graphics, and animation. I aim to delve further into long-form content, documentaries, and films, and expand my experience in branding and digital content. My journey from Glasgow to the Midwest underscores my commitment to capturing compelling stories through a unique lens.
